The Moment of Love
Most of time, our self-identification is uncertain and liquidity for us because of cultural context and environment. Our teams members provide a lot of views of this topic, which are not only about this phenomenon but also some advices on how to face it.
This series of illustrations is about my concern towards the influence of collecting and analyzing data for better quality of life. You might have noticed that almost everything is connected to quantification nowadays, such as music preference on iTunes, food recommendations on Yelp or workout plans on fitness apps, etc. They are all based on the immense data that is collected and monitored from your daily life. However, here is my question, if we make all the selections based on the data and personal preference so that it might stop us from experiencing new things, will this so called ‘quantified self ’ lead us to a better future?
Memoirs of a Geisha
This set of illustrations is one of my coursework during undergraduate period. I tried to use illustrations as my language to express my review of a movie named Memoirs of a Geisha. The story is similar to Cinderella but with different meanings, like the pursuit of beauty or contend for their fate.
I chose red and blue as main color to mirror the conflict between reality and fantasy in the movie. In addition, l also hope that viewers could add their image into my illustrations to engage the reflection，so l tried to simplify the characters face.
Over the Cloud
My inspiration comes from a song named Strawberry Letter, I nearly into this music which makes me feel joviality and relax, I can feeling the breeze blows gentle over the flower sea and my face.
l created it based on one of my favourite fiction named L'amica geniale.
