Art Residency Shanghai Fiction

A three-month residency at Swatch Art Peace Hotel, exploring the building’s historical layers and narrative potential through a series of illustration works.

The project draws from the architecture and atmosphere of the residency site, where observation and imagination intersect. Familiar spaces are reinterpreted as cinematic fragments, shifting between reality and fiction.

The works translate architectural details, entrances, interiors, and surrounding views into symbolic compositions, where light, shadow, and perspective construct a dreamlike narrative. Through this approach, the project examines how space can function as a trigger for storytelling, allowing urban memory and imagination to coexist within a unified visual system.
