New Year Reunion Dinner
This project explores identity and personal history through the ritual of a Chinese New Year reunion dinner.
The composition centres on a selection of dishes drawn from different stages of life, including family traditions, regional influences, and shared experiences. Each dish functions as a narrative element, connecting people, places, and memories. By organising these elements into a unified visual system, the work examines how food operates as a carrier of cultural identity and emotional connection.
Through this approach, the project presents cooking as a form of communication, where recipes, relationships, and self-definition are intertwined.
