PLAYFUL DOMESTICITY
As Yulong Lli’s debut ceramic series, this collection explores the fluid boundaries between the mundane and the extraordinary. Drawing visual inspiration from the whimsical surrealism of Joan Miró and the expressive ceramic forms of Pablo Picasso, the project infuses utilitarian objects with distinct, character-driven personalities.
By transforming everyday tableware- bowls, plates, cups, and vases- into lively, anthropomorphic figures through hand-sculpted shapes, playful eye motifs, and tactile glazes, the work redefines functional ceramics as intimate companion pieces. The collection invites viewers to pause and reconsider their daily rituals, blurring the line where ordinary household life meets extraordinary artistic play.
