Chinese Myths and Legends
Commissioned by NUINUI BOOKS, this project was developed as part of the World Mythologies series, focusing on Chinese mythology.
The visual concept brings together references from Chinese ceramics, traditional textiles, and export painting, forming a layered visual system that reinterprets mythological narratives through pattern, rhythm, and composition.
Rather than illustrating individual stories, the work assembles symbolic elements into a unified framework, allowing different cultural references to coexist and interact within the same space. This approach translates myth into an open visual language, balancing familiarity and ambiguity to invite interpretation and imagination.
